Today is day four of Vicki W.'s Fall Giveaway, and today the giveaway on this blog features red, white and blue fabric. A random draw will pick the winner of a baker's dozen (13) of fat quarters of fabrics featuring red, white and blue. I have made several Quilts of Valor, but tend to use the separate colors, so don't expect to receive flag fabric.

Leave a comment telling me about any quilts of valor, charity quilts, or quilts for family members or cats that you've made.

You have until Oct. 22, 2014 to leave a comment for each day and the daily winners will be posted on this blog on Oct 24, 2014.

Here is a picture of Jimmy as a kitten enjoying blue fabrics.

And if you would like some Quilts of Valor inspiration, check out Alycia's blog.

I haven't made a quilt of valor yet. I want to make one for my husband's good friend that served in Vietnam.

I try to make 3 QOVs every year. Last year I sent to Alycia. The 3 for this year I have not yet sent to Alycia because I'm too lazy to make labels for them. And during HSTeria I made a Depression Block top in r/w/b for my husband's Vietnam Vet friend that I wanted to get quilted and send to him as a surprise for Christmas (I better get moving on that). And I try to make quilts for donation to Quilts Beyond Borders and Wrap-a-Smile and whatever else suits my fancy each year. As far as cats...they are left out in the cold around here. They get no charity quilts but they do get bed and breakfast (served by my retired DH while I'm slaving at work) since they have taken over the barn and refuse to eat field mice any more.

Hi, I've made small quilts for all 6 of my grands, and I'd like to make some for my children next. Thanks for the nice giveaway.

I try to make charity quilts regularly. In the last few months I've taken two to a local crisis pregnancy center and two to the local Hospice care facility.

I bought a kit but have not put it together yet. Still organizing my fabric and noticed I don't have much red, white and blue. That is why I bought the kit. As soon as I finish painting the den and putting baseboards in the fabric room, I will start sewing again.

Wow - I'm jealous of your blue collection! I'm currently working on a "camo" quilt for my nephew and a secret quilt for my mom. The cats usually get to use the doll quilts I make - it's easier to run a cat mat thru the washer than to clean the upholstery of all that cat fur =^..^=

:) Jimmy apparently likes blue! I have a sewing room assistant like that too, and all of my quilts include a special touch of cat hair. My quilting group makes quilts for the local women's shelter and the local first responders. Thanks for the great giveaway!

good choice to lay on blues, as your color contrasts nicely with them.
I made a block carrier with a cat on a beach with an umbrella, for my mil, that came out so good I kept it!
Maybe not nice, but it's still here..... LeeAnna at not afraid of color leeannaquilts@gmail.com

I have made a couple Quilts of Valor so far--one using Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy Trips pattern, and the other is a Bowtie quilt. I would love more RWB fabrics!

I am late with this comment but I missed your posts, don't know why just caught up today (Sunday here). Well I cannot believe the selection of blues you have in your stash, love shot of Jimmy chilling out there.

I have not done a quilt of valor but I have recommended someone to receive one. I looked up a group in may area for my friend and I to join next month to help with them. Love your stash of blue and the cat looks happy on it!

I recently completed two donation quilts for our local guilds. I used the split 9-patch pattern. I haven't yet made a quilt of valor. I think cats like fabric as much as quilters do.

Alycia has made so many beautiful Quilts of Valor! My first real quilt was a One Block Wonder quilt made for my middle daughter's birthday-- made from castle and unicorn fabric in the colors of blue and purple.. It got me hooked! :-) Jimmy, you were such a sweet little baby! I agree with you-- blue is one of the BEST colors! :-)

I've only ever made quilts for my nephew! I'd love to make some charity quilts at some point, but I need to improve my skills first.

I've never made a quilt of valour, but since I'm Canadian I would make one in Red and white.

Jimmy looks as though he would fit right in with our 3 cats who also love to lounge on the fabrics in the sewing room! My charity quilts are gifts for homeless and orphans. sowingstitches [at] gmail [dot] com

Haven't made any quilts of valor yet. But I do plan to make my husband a patriotic one. I have started collecting some fabrics towards it. But I have made lots of Breast Cancer Awareness quilted mug rugs that I donate to the breast surgeons office and also to The Breast Care hospital Center for the staff and patients

I've made a number of Project Linus quilts, but no Quilts of Valor so far. Together with another person, I made a comfort quilt for a fellow church member who was having some health problems. And I've made various quilts for family members.

I've contributed blocks for my guild's Quilts of Valor. Hoping to make one of my own soon.

I haven't made any charity quilts or quilts of valor yet but have made hundreds of pillowcases for different children's hospitals. I love how fast they are and how many childrens lives I can brighten. I also have one spoiled yellow and white tuxedo cat who goes by Maxine the Queen or Maxi Cat for short.

I am new to quilting, and all except 2 of my quilts have been made for family; 5 for my children, and 1 for my niece. I am hoping to make a baby quilt for the school auction this year. sarah@forrussia.org

Everything I make is for the cats, according to them. Maybe I should make an actual cat bed. Then they wouldn't set foot on it out of spite. Ha! I am very new to quilting so mostly I work on skill building sampler type blocks and small items for my sewing area. Thanks! Notwendy gmail

I want to make a quilt of valor and someday I will. I sew everyday mostly for my own gift giving and for my 5 grandchildren - quilts, clothes and pjs - and doll clothes. However, I regularly make children and baby quilts for my local women's shelter - sometimes it's 3 or 4 a month but at least one every month. I also make winter items for the homeless if I can. Today I mailed a parcel of fleece scarves, reusable cotton feminine napkins, and 3 soft toys for schoolchildren 4 - 15 yrs old in Kenya where girls have to stay home once a month because they have no feminine protection. I will make these on a regular basis too from now on - the mama pads I mean. Cape Craft manage the projects that call for what is needed and my response was to Project 25 - they also needed quilts but had filled their quota for those.
